Jeremy Ranch Recognized as a Top Elementary School

PARK CITY, UT (October 27, 2021) — Jeremy Ranch Elementary School has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of Utah’s best elementary schools in 2021.

“We are fortunate to have remarkable community support and engagement,” said Dr. Jill Gildea, Park City School District superintendent. “Our staff at Jeremy Ranch is proud to have earned such a top honor.”

The publication introduced its first-ever rankings of K-8 schools this year, which compared student academics within the context of their state and demographics.

“The faculty and students at Jeremy Ranch Elementary School are truly extraordinary,” said Dr. Gildea. “They regularly go the extra mile to ensure students are flourishing inside and outside of the classroom.”

Rankings are based heavily on math and reading proficiency results from the 2018-19 school year, so it will not reflect the pandemic’s impact on learning. In addition, U.S. News considered overall proficiency levels and how well students achieved compared to expectations acknowledging students’ demographic and socioeconomic status.

All U.S. News & World Report rankings data are provided by third-party sources, including the U.S. Department of Education. More than 650 elementary schools were analyzed in Utah using the specific criteria, with Jeremy Ranch being ranked 35th in the state.

Unlike the rankings of high schools, however, U.S. News did not put out national rankings of the elementary and middle school institutions.
